Guidance on When Commercial Trade Terms Are Needed

These are contracts for all construction work and the supply of related goods and services that is not domestic building work. For example:

  • Civil contracts

  • Contracts with a builder (residential or commercial)

  • Contracts with a commercial building owner or commercial tenant

  • Domestic building contract under $3,300 (including materials, labour and GST)

  • Contracts with owner-builders

  • Contracts with federal, state, territory or local government
